Hello Juno, my name is Jared Rodriguez and I am a senior at Foothill Technology High School. The challenges you went through in the movie were extremely difficult and I think you handled them very well. I think it was a bit absurd how you said that you had sex because you were bored. I don’t think anybody does those kind of things simply because they are bored. I think that you had strong feelings for that boy and you both were in the “perfect” situation to have intercourse. You guys were in the perfect situation because you were both alone. However, I don’t think the time was right for you to be involving yourself in such matters .Sex is a very delicate verb that when one performs can make an enormous change on a life, or several lives, for the better or for the worse. There are many teens out there who are extremely sexually active but have never had any issues with getting pregnant or getting STD’s. I don’t agree that this behavior is right, but these teens probably have never had any problems because they are open to their parent(s) about their sexual relationship. Thus, they are able to prepare themselves easier because their parents support them and help them through the process of having better and safer sex. Or maybe some of these teens just go and get information and support for safe sex elsewhere and are able to indulge in these activities without having many regrets and problems.You, Juno, didn’t practice any kind of safe sex and that resulted in you getting pregnant. Perhaps you weren’t practicing safe sex and perhaps you were in high school and not ready to have a child. But in all honesty, I believe the outcome was more positive than it was negative. Yes, you had to endure the pains of being pregnant and actually having the child, but you changed a few lives, including yours, for the better.
In the end you made someone a happy mother, you found true love, and you gave life to a beautiful breathing baby with fingernails! I believe, depending on the circumstance, that a women should be able to choose what she wants with her body. I think you made the right choice and I am glad you went through with it.
